The year is drawing to a close. I hope you all have made your New Year’s resolutions. I am always hoping and praying for the success of our Serra activities. On January 9 to 11th the USA Council of Serra International will be meeting in Chicago at what we call Superweekend. The Board of USAC will meet plus our committees will be meeting to design and develop programs for the promotion of Serra Objectives. We have four major committees (Vocations, Membership, Programs, and Communications) plus other committees.
National Vocation Awareness Week is from Jan. 11 to 17th. It is a week in which we conduct activities in our parishes and dioceses to increase the awareness amongst our fellow Catholics of the need for vocations. In my parish we will be having a pancake breakfast for the benefit of our seminarians. The Knights of Columbus will be co-sponsoring the breakfast.
Also on Sunday January 11 we will be selling tickets throughout the San Jose Diocese for the 3rd Annual Priests/Seminarian basketball challenge which will be held on Feb 6 at the University of Santa Clara.
Please thank your priests for being there for us.
